An external authentication system allows a user to connect to Compilatio with his usual credentials (academic, institutional...). The user is not aware of his Compilatio credentials.
External authentication systems are reserved for Compilatio Magister accounts.
An external user account is composed of attributes that store various information such as name, first name, email address, account type, etc.
The rules for accessing the Compilatio service are defined by the institution.
A user accesses the service when it is recognized as legitimate by the institution from which it comes.
The creation of the Compilatio Magister account is done automatically the first time the user logs in (when he is recognized as legitimate).
Here are the external authentication options we offer:
- External authentication with Microsoft Entra ID (previously Azure Active Directory)
- External authentication LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol)
- External authentication CAS (Central Authentication Service)
- External authentication with unfederated Shibboleth
