Installation of Compilatio plugin for Blackboard

Deployment registration

  1. Enter the Administrator panel
  2. Click on Integrations, then LTI Tool Providers

  3. Inside the new page, click on the button Register LTI 1.3/Advantage Tool in order to register a new LTI tool:

  4. In the following screen, type the Client ID 507eec5f-ce24-4890-a400-58460ec68246

  5. All of the settings will be automatically configured just by entering the client ID:

  6. At this point, a Deployment ID is generated by Blackboard. You have to send us this information to register this installation.

With the registering of the client Id in blackboard there will be two new placements generated
to access the application.

 

Administrator tool access placement

This placement is accessed through Admin Panel > Administrator Tools > Tools and Utilities > Compilatio Admin Tool

And this will be the administrator view for the configuration of the standard settings in
assignments, and to store the credentials of the Compilatio account.

Course tool access placement

This placement is accessed through a Course View -> Course Tools -> Compilatio Course Tool

This will be the access for the instructors to the tool displaying the assignments of the course.
And from here they will be able to manage the assignments, their submissions and the
analyses of the files submitted.

 

API REST Configuration

To handle the scheduled task we need to create a new REST API integration, because while these tasks are  running in the background we don’t have any active session to use the token provided by the 3LO authentication.
The application has a scheduled task that is automatically uploading the submission files made by the students to the application database in order to get them analyzed if the analyses are set to be launched in non-manual mode.

To create this integration :

  1. Enter the Administrator panel
  2. Click on Integrations
  3. Click on REST API Integrations

  4. Click on Create Integration

  5. Enter 507eec5f-ce24-4890-a400-58460ec68246 in the field Application ID


     
  6. Choose a user that should be a user in Blackboard with a System Role that at least has these
    privileges:
    • Course/Organization Control Panel (Tools) > Tests, Surveys, and Pools > Tests
    • Course/Organization Control Panel (Grade Center) > Full Control
